Seven Titles Inscribed to Sue Freestone, Harris's Publisher

London: Hutchinson, 1997-2021

8vos, original boards in illustrated dust jackets. Occasional light edgewear, but a very well preserved collection.

A collection of seven Harris titles, first editions, ALL INSCRIBED TO HARRIS'S LONG-TIME PUBLISHER SUE FREESTONE.

Sue Freestone was publishing director at Heinemann, Hutchinson and Quercus over the course of a distinguished career, and guided the early -- and then mature -- careers of many authors who became best sellers. A well as Harris, her list included Douglas Adams, Stephen Fry and Sebastian Faulks, and she also saw into print books by political figures, among them Alastair Campbell, Tony Benn and Bill Clinton.

The books in the collection are:

-- ARCHANGEL (London: Hutchinson, 1998): 'To Sue, with much love, and thanks, as ever, Robert. Random House, 25 August 1998.'

-- IMPERIUM (London: Hutchinson, 2006): 'To Sue, the end of an era? I hope not! With much love, and thanks for everything. Robert X 19 June 2006'.

-- THE GHOST (London: Hutchinson, 2007): 'To Sue, sssshhhh! with much love, and thanks, as always, Robert. 28th Spetember 2007'.

-- LUSTRUM (London: Hutchinson, 2009): 'To Sue, with love, and thanks, as always. Robert X'.

-- AN OFFICER AND A SPY (London: Hutchinson, 2013, second impression): 'To Sue, with happy memories, and much love, Robert'.

-- CONCLAVE (London: Hutchinson, 2016): 'To Sue, with much love from Robert 3 Sept. 2016'.

-- THE CICERO TRILOGY (London: Hutchinson/Heinemann 2021, first collected edition): 'To Sue, who started it all, a souvenir, with much love, Robert'.
