THOMPSON, Jim

The Getaway

New York: Signet, 1958

8vo, pp. 127. Original illustrated wrappers. Spine weakened at pp. 46-7. Closed tear at foot of spine, wrappers (though not the spine) a little creased. A very good copy.

First edition.

Thompson's ultra-hardboiled thriller was the basis for the classic 1972 Peckinpah film starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw, and the less than classic 1994 remake starring Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger.

A copy in twice as good condition as this would command five times the price, which is bad news for both of us.
