Housman we know; Alfred Pollard was a bibliographer and editor who became Keeper of Printed Books at the British Museum, a post he held between 1919 and 1924. The introduction to this collection of the correspondence between the two men is written by H. R. Woudhuysen, Pollard's great-grandson.
